We are a UK training company helping families, schools and professionals make sense of SEND, EHCP law and EBSA. Everything we build starts from the same place — understanding what is really going on for a child, in language people can actually use.

Simplified Support was founded by Jessica Buckle and Nicola Middlehurst — the authors of Unmasking EBSA and the creators of the EBSA Support Plan.
As parent carers ourselves, we know first-hand how confusing and exhausting it can be to navigate the SEND system. We also know that professionals working with children in distress need training that is clear, current and genuinely practical — not jargon.
We set up Simplified Support to share what we have learned, in the same plain language we wish someone had used with us.

Explore the training →Our book sets out a clear, compassionate way to understand the distress behind school avoidance — and what families and schools can do next. The same understanding runs through every course we write.
A structured tool that helps families turn the chaos of school distress into a clear picture they can share with school, health professionals and anyone supporting their child. It is a starting point, not a diagnosis.
Build a Support Plan →Our training is written for anyone who wants to better understand and support a child with additional needs.
Clear, plain-English guidance on SEND law, EHCPs and EBSA — so you understand your rights and can advocate confidently for your child.
Practical training for teachers, SENCOs and support staff working with children whose attendance, anxiety or additional needs are a barrier to learning.
Continuing professional development for psychologists, social workers and other practitioners supporting neurodivergent children and families.
Training is designed by a psychologist and an IPSEE-trained SEND law consultant, and is built to be used — not just watched.
Our courses are designed across the levels of Bloom's Taxonomy, so learning moves from understanding through to application, analysis and real-world practice.
SEND law content is grounded in the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice, with training developed by an IPSEE-trained consultant.
Every course is informed by our own experience as parent carers and by the families and professionals we have worked alongside.
We work from a neurodiversity-affirming standpoint — recognising difference, not deficit, and centring the child's voice and wellbeing.
The people behind Simplified Support — and the parents who needed this kind of training themselves.

Parents told us they needed something practical: a way to turn the chaos of school distress into a clear picture they could share with school, health professionals and anyone else supporting their child. The EBSA Support Plan is that tool.
It is not a diagnosis and it is not a replacement for professional support. It is a structured place to start, built on the same understanding behind Unmasking EBSA.
